THERE will be no shortage of reigning national champions at Simon Lambert’s Testimonial meeting next month.

British title holder Danny King is going to be at the Adrian Flux Arena on Sunday, March 26th (2pm start). So, too, five-in-a-row Danish winner – and Grand Prix star – Niels Kristian Iversen.

The latest champion to sign on the dotted line is newly crowned Australian kingpin Sam Masters, who lifted the gold last month following successive runner-up finishes. The 25 year old from Newcastle in New South Wales added the trophy to a burgeoning cabinet that already includes pole position in the 2011 Premier League Riders’ Championship, 2014 Pairs and 2015 Fours, as well as the 2016 Elite League title with Wolves and the previous two years’ Premier League championships with Edinburgh.

Says Simon of his latest “acquisition”: “I am absolutely delighted to have another champion in my line-up. I spoke to Sam soon after his victory in the Aussie series, and like so many others he got back to me pretty quickly with a “yes”.

“It will be a pleasure to have him at my meeting next month. He’s a funny guy, with a great sense of humour, and I am sure he’ll add some extra entertainment to the day.”

The first ten riders announced to the field are Niels Kristian Iversen, Danny King, Sam Masters, Ulrich Ostergaard, Kenneth Hansen, Jason Garrity, Josh Grajczonek, David Howe, Ricky Wells…. and Simon Lambert himself, with more to follow soon!
